Location: Rizal Province, about 25 km from Manila
ANTIPOLO CATHEDRAL
How to commute: From Cubao, take a van/v-hire/fx going to antipolo church, fare is P45.
Antipolo is known as a pilgrimage site since the image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (a.k.a. Virgin of Antipolo) brought in from Mexico 385 years ago by Don Juan Nińo de Tabora is enshrined in this cathedral. It was named Nuestra Senora de la Paz y Buenviaje, as it was honoured for protecting Don Tabora’s expeditions. The real brown image can be venerated at the Antipolo Museum located behind the altar of the church.
I was told of a Catholic custom in which new vehicles are blessed at the church, that is believed to ensure safety for the passengers.

TRADE FAIR. Outside the Antipolo Church are stalls selling their famous delicacies: SUMAN and KASOY (cashew). It is amazing how this cashew nut can be cooked in so many different ways resulting to different products. The sugar-glazed cashew nuts, for me, is the best pasalubong or gift for love ones! Yum-yum-yum!
