A GAZEBO OF JOURNEYS AND RANDOM THOUGHTS OF AN AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER AND WRITER. Life is a series of pictures. Some blurred, others vivid and sharp; some are panoramic while others are close-up views with tiny little flaws. You may be taken by a luxurious DSLR camera or a plain Point and Shoot Cam, but in the end, when all of the films are used up and all batteries empty, people all have one thing in common: what we leave are footprints in the sand, pictures in the album, and flashes of memories.

BLOOD COMPACT SITE (bohol)

Location: Barangay Bool, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines.
It can be found on a raised platform with a spectacular panorama of the Bohol sea.

Made by Napoleon Abueva (a Boholano articst), this site with 5 life-size images of men gathered around the table, was made in commemoration of a very important event in the Philippine history done between Miguel Lopez de Legazpi (a Spanish conquistador) and Rajah Sikatuna (a Boholano leader) known as the Blood compact or locally termed as

 “Sandugo”.
According to the inscription: "A few drops of blood drawn from a small incision in the arm of each of the two chiefs were placed in separate cups containing wine, and in the presence of their followers, each chief drank the potion containing the blood of the other."

This Sikatuna-Legaspi blood compact is considered as the First Treaty of Friendship, a symbol of respect and equality between different races, religion, and culture.
