A GAZEBO OF JOURNEYS AND RANDOM THOUGHTS OF AN AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER AND WRITER. Life is a series of pictures. Some blurred, others vivid and sharp; some are panoramic while others are close-up views with tiny little flaws. You may be taken by a luxurious DSLR camera or a plain Point and Shoot Cam, but in the end, when all of the films are used up and all batteries empty, people all have one thing in common: what we leave are footprints in the sand, pictures in the album, and flashes of memories.

HINAGDANAN CAVE (Bohol)

LOCATION: Barrio Bingag, Dauis, Panglao Island, Bohol

"Hagdan" is the Filipino word for a ladder.
At time of its discovery, a "hagdan" was used to explore the cave; thus, the name.
You can learn more of the cave here or here.

I will just show you some photos of this cave.
I haven't done much editing in my pictures here.. But just take a glimpse and enjoy!
----------------------------------------------------------------

This is the cave's entrance where a small billboard encrypted with information can be read.
This area is also where a visitor pays 15 pesos for the entrance fee.

It was taken cared of by our tour driver. We just waited
and after a while, we were going in...

We were greeted by a comic cave guide (uh, sorry again -- I forgot his name) who amusingly introduced us to two of his favorite words:
"Es-pik-tak-yu-lar" (spectacular) and "pab-yo-loss" (fabulous), which he often comments after every picture-taking. (p.s. he's a very good photographer too! He knows all about adjusting the camera's settings!)
I highly recommend this cave guide, so when you come here -- choose him! :D

INSIDE THE CAVE

These are not really ancient scrawls, but intentionally drawn as part of a set of a foreign movie.
But it really looked truly ancient! :))

Compared to the Ka Mira cave (here), I guess this has not be thoroughly taken cared of as evidenced by the black markings on the stalactites. (as I have learned, one human touch of a stalactite/stalagmite can delay its growth for a year. Frequent touching can alter its color or stop the growth)

The sunlight's rays make their way though the holes on the ceiling, so flashlights or any artificial lights are not needed anymore in the tour! :)

A travel that satisfies the heart
and fills the brain with cherished memories.
This is TRAVEL-licious.
